~Pure Good~

They say
pure good
does not exist

I am here to say
it does

Pure hearts
pure souls
in tiny little bodies

When one is gripped
with anger
and despair
Pure goodness opens
the heart,
soothes the soul…

a 4-year old angel
with a heart as clear
and shiny
and unstained
as nothing else in this world

She covers you
with a blankie,
gently places Bunny Bear
next to you
then climbs up…
lays her tiny body at your side

And with all the world’s wisdom
inherent knowledge of the Universe
Why are you lying down?

a 3-year old honey bear
down for a nap,
arms wrapped around
his precious green truck

And. as sleepy time music
gently fills the air
A voice, pure as morning snow
but, oh, so much more enchanting
sings along…
‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star’

Oh, yes,
pure good
does indeed exist

About Icinia

Icinia McIntosh has been writing all of her life. One of her cherished childhood memories is the feeling of absolute joy derived from writing a story...not only the sheer pleasure of putting thoughts on paper, but the knowledge that her words would be read, and enjoyed, by others was intoxicating indeed. Today, Icinia writes mostly poetry, with the occasional foray into the realm of short stories. Icinia McIntosh was born and raised in Canada and still makes her home there.
